Kasie White

Licensed Master Social Worker - Clinical
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), IFS trained, EMDR trained, Clinical Therapist and Community Advocate
My Therapeutic Approach
My work is grounded in CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, and Strength Based Therapy. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I integrate a wide range of evidence-based modalities. This integrative model allows me to tailor each session to the client’s unique needs, goals, and strengths.
My Commitment
Lifelong learning is central to my practice. I prioritize staying current in trauma treatments, dissociative disorders, and neuroscience to ensure patients receive the most informed and compassionate care possible. I am also deeply committed to community advocacy. I have actively served on various boards across Genesee County and continue to advocate for equitable access to basic needs and healthcare—especially for those whose voices are too often overlooked.
With more than 13 years of experience teaching at the university level, I bring a blend of clinical expertise, leadership, and education to the work I do.
I believe that healing is both an individual and collective act—and that when we learn to practice the PAUSE, we create space to begin again with strength, clarity, and intention.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with a deep passion for empowering individuals, families, and communities. I hold social work degrees from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, and I bring more than 20 years of experience in trauma treatment and response, crisis care, housing and homelessness, medical social work, human trafficking, sex therapy, LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and youth services.
In 2018, I co-founded Living in the Pause, Counseling and Consulting with my colleague and friend, Laura Macias, LMSW-C. The practice is dedicated to supporting therapists, first responders, and other helping professionals in their healing journey, along with those whose lives have been impacted by trauma, PTSD, substance use, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, dissociation, sexual violence, domestic violence and related life challenges.
